Robert McDougall is a seasoned creative professional and
an able marketing strategist with a 20-year background in advertising, complemented by many industry awards.
Originally from Calgary, Robert studied journalism, photojournalism and editorial design at Mount Royal
College before working as a reporter at the daily newspaper
The Albertan and later as editor and art director with
Maclean Hunter Publishing. Posts as a speechwriter and a communications director followed before he joined the advertising business.
Today he is a writer-creative director with experience at agencies in Toronto, New York City and Los Angeles. He is the recipient of more than one hundred international and national advertising awards for his work at McCann Erickson, Bozell Worldwide, J. Walter Thompson, BBDO and Holmes and Lee, among others.
Additional recognition includes placement of his broadcast and print work in the permanent collection of advertising art at one
of Canada’s foremost cultural institutions, The Royal Ontario Museum. As well, his work has been featured on programs such as ABC News Nightline and in educational textbooks.
